As of 11/21, I'm going to say the bottom 50, as last year's event had a little over 1000 entries. I'm going to give it until the event is over on January 3rd to see if this post gets out of the bottom rank of OC's posted. This out of approximately 150 entries so far.Ĭoncerning this information, I've decided to play a little game. This my Contrail is in direct comparison to the others joining the event.Īnd as of posting this, he is currently in the bottom ten OC's both by downvotes and total score. HOWEVER, this situation is a different matter in my heart, as all of these posts under the 2021 event tag are required to be OC's.
But it's usually just a fact of life that OC's in art communities where fanart of existing IP's is prevalent are going to be deemed inferior by proxy. I both love and hate the up/down voting system, because it plays of my inferiority complex wayyy too much. Now, I have none of these to any extent, so images of my own OC's tend to get a lot of those pesky downvotes. Now something I've experienced with using the Derps: OC's aren't very appreciated unless you have 2 of the following 3 properties: A) decent art quality, B) sufficiently unique OC design/story, and C) some decent clout/status in the community. I don't do this very often, so it seemed kind of exciting. Opinions about this website aside, I do have a posting history there, so I felt like making an easy image for such a collab. I decided to enter my MLP OC, Contrail, in Derpibooru's 2021 OC Collaboration image.
